After Daytona & Dega, isn't it pretty obvious NASCAR doesn't follow their own green/white/checkered rules?
"If the caution flag comes out at any time during the green-white-checkered finish, the field would immediately be frozen, and the race would be over. Video evidence would be used in addition to scoring loops to determine the official order of finish."
No word that I can see about "being able to cross the start/finish line".
Mark Martin is too nice a guy to complain, but I don’t see Tony Stewart having that problem.
To clarify: Some people have claimed that the "field is frozen as long as you can cross the start/finish line".
Nowhere in the stated GWC rules is that stated — simply that the field is frozen. Dot. Period.

I think that is completely true. The caution only comes out when certain people wreck. NASCAR plays favorites and everyone knows it. If you notice Tony Stewart complained and a caution came out in his favor the very next race.

Kind of confused about your question. I dont believe NASCAR follows their own rules, it all depends on where certain people are (such as the Hendrick cars, however that is my own opinion). I didnt really understand why they didnt red flag the race today when it was obvious that it should have been a red flag. So long story short, it is pretty obvious that they dont follow their own rules, and make them up as they see fit.

You have to be able to maintain pace car speed and cross the start finish line. This is not a GWC specific rule. This was a rule prior to the GWC rule. If you can not maintain the pace car speed, you will not maintain your position.

I find it curious that at Daytona Nascar stated the caution didn’t come immediately because the wreck was behind the leaders, and not until who ever flipped. Today at Dega the caution under the green white check came out immediately even though the wreck was behind the leaders.
I don’t see your point here though with the who being able to cross the start finish line thing and what that has to do with Mark Martin.

Stewart is mad at Jamie for recking him mainly……. And you can blam officials for not throwing the yellow when they started hitting the walls down the back stretch… which should have slowed everyone anyhow so there wouldn’t have been an accident….. Martin didn’t cry yeah we know but he didn’t wreck either…. If Harvick would have put him in the wall he would have had something to say I promise ya that one….

i was honestly waitin on the red flag they always stop the race but not this time they run 2 or three extra laps and almost make drivers run out of gas and jamie did they need to be consistent with there ruleings and fines and penaltys thats why drivers and teams do what they do to try to pull one over on nascar i dont think nascar is rigged i think they help in some small way to dictate the winners but to no who won the race weeks in advance naw that dont happen

Personally I think freezing the field is bullsh!t. Let them race to the f*cking checkered flag. Caution lap victory is horse sh!t. I’m willing to bet had there had they raced to the checkered flag, Gordon’s rainbow fruit @ss would have been beat.
It’s called racing boys! Not driving laps lined up singled file at 70 miles per hour!

If you review the finish of the race you’ll see not only was the yellow flag flown before the leader crossesd the finish line
you’ll see Stewart had passed underneath the yellow flag before he was wrecked. He looked to be in fifth place then.
At what point after that do you call the field frozen? The race was over at the yellow by rule. To say he finished 28th is cheating. Maybe its just payback for calling Nascar to task.

NASCAR makes up rules as they go.
19 or 20 scoring loops at Talladega and Gordon was in front
when the caution is thrown,I thought on a G-W-C the video was to be used,but being at the track we could not see the monitors.
So from the scanners and the radio all we could tell was McMurray had been passed.
And the shower of trash from the drunks was uncalled for.
