After the checkered flag is waved, do the lapped cars still have to complete their remaining laps or they stop

I think so. They finish for placing for points. Im not sure how it works for those who are a few laps behind. I know when it gets towards the end all the trailing cars start dropping out.

They finish that lap and it is over.

No. After the checkered flag is displayed the race is over. Any driver 1 or more laps down cease racing & are scored in their finishing position but as -1 or -23 or however many laps down they were.
EX: 2day at the brickyard at the end of the race Matt Kenseth was scored 38th -16 & Kevin Harvick was 37th -12.

Yes they keep going unless their car is ruined, then they have to run or walk the remaining laps.

No, once they cross the finish line that is it. They do not enjoy the track longer, although Coke Zero wishes they would.

No they are just trapped how ever many laps that they are down .
