Can you help me. How do you tell someone you don't trust them?
I work at a small company there are about 20 of us. We all decided to play the big lotto twice a week.
We figured with 20 chances we have more of a shot. One lady that we work with decided to be in charge of taking the money and buying the tickets.
Here is the problem in the 12 weeks we have been playing she has only brought copies of the tickets for us to see 3 times. everyone has brought to her attention that we want copies of them and each time she has an excuse.
she has stated also that she plays on her own also. So here is the red flag we all are wondering if first she is even buying our tickets or just putting the money in her pocket that is 40 per week. or if she is buying them and we do get lucky and hit she can just walk away with all our money stating that she won on her ticket not ours.
Everyone wants someone else to be in charge but no one wants to hurt her feelings or to cause a problem with someone we work with. So how would you handle this? what should we say to her?

send her an email saying that she needs to show the money and the tickets/copies once a week or the job will be given to a more trustworthy person. the response should shock her, and if so, she will apologize. if she’s not this kind of person, then she’s the nasty kind and will shoot all these mean things to you, possibly. then you might want to forget your money and move on. these things happen. truth hurts. but it is the truth. if you don’t like that option, get a couple people to talk to her with you and explain kindly or harshly and most importantly: firmly. truth hurts, remember?
Well, think of it this way. If YOU were the one who had been nominated to collect the money and buy the tickets, wouldn’t you feel it to be your duty to show copies every single time you bought the tickets? It’s part of her job. She should realize that everyone has trust in her, and that out of respect for everyone involved she should be doing exactly what you guys asked her to. Don’t feel bad, I’m not even part of your situation and I’m feeling nervous for you. I think SOMEONE needs to approach her now! Why don’t you guys just sit down and do this as a group? That way she can see how upset everyone is over this. Explain that she’s made up too many excuses over not providing copies of the tickets. Explain that if she doesn’t start providing copies, then someone else will be in charge of collecting the money. Don’t be worried about hurting her feelings, she’s not showing you guys the respect you deserve. It’s your money, and those are your tickets. Like you said, if there is a winning, she has to be able to prove which ticket won… hers alone or the entire group’s. Good luck!
