Driving Range Products

The driving range products that you employ on your practice area can say a lot about you and your facility. It really does not matter whether you are at a country club, public course or a stand-alone practice facility.

As you determine what type of member or customer that you will want to attract, the driving range products that you use and supply will be a quiet statement to this. You will not want to be the highest price in town for a range basket of balls and not have the equipment that you use reflect that image.

Here are just a few driving range products that you will need to determine which fits your facility and will attract the members or customers that you are looking to attract:

As golfers walk to the tee line first thing in the morning or they are the after work crowd, these players are going to want to see organization. Each hitting station will need to be clearly defined as well as far enough apart to keep safety in mind.

Each station will need a bag stand to place their golf bag while they practice. Practice facility bag stands come in many different forms. With this being said, most are made of a metal or a durable plastic. Metal bag stands can either sit on top of the turf or you can use a metal spiked bag stand that you push into the turf. Either way, you can vary the thickness of the metal for different looks.

Some facilities use driving range products such as pyramid stackers to separate the stations as well as furnish balls to their members or customers. Range ball stackers are easy to use. Your staff member simply puts the pyramid template over the pyramid tray and loads the range balls into the template form the top of the unit. Once full, remove the template and you have a perfect pyramid.

You may determine that you just want to use simple range ball trays along with your bag stands to separate your stations. These range trays are usually made of a durable plastic and come in black or a hunter green color.

Not many people consider outdoor benches driving range products. However, outdoor benches are a great addition to any practice facility. Not only will it give your members or guests a chance to rest so they can hit more balls, you can also use them as a piece of decorative outdoor or a piece of branded outdoor furniture. You can purchase wrought iron outdoor benches that are not only comfortable but are also decorative or pretty. Maybe you prefer a wooden outdoor bench. If this is the case then you can burn your country club, golf course or practice facility’s logo right into the wood.

One of the driving range products that most operators overlook is the actual driving range flags that you are going to use at the facility. I say this because most of the time not all are visible or the staff has knocked them over. Are your targets defined by greens that you will use a regular golf course flag to give your members or customers target? If you do not have greens are you just going to implement regular golf course flags as targets? Another alternative would be to use a yardage sign on your practice facility instead of a flag.
