Hey Yahoo Answers!! Give me back my 10 points!?
I just got flagged and docked 10 points because I asked a perfectly legitimate question. My question stated that my parents are using a bootleg copy of Windows XP, and AFTER buying a 99.99 legal copy at WalMart he noticed it said upgrade on the side. So I told him I’d ask the community here on what to do, to see if he needed a different copy. Within minutes I was told that I needed the full version which costs 129.99, I told him, and he’s at WalMart right now making a purchase. Than Yahoo’s team decides I need to be flagged since I used the innapropriate "pirated copy of Windows" in my question, and I got flagged and docked -10 points.
Was my question even read by a human being? Is this completely stupid?

I’m not sure if a human read your question, but I’m afraid to answer it because I don’t want to be docked any points.

I’m sorry you lost your points but since the Y/A team has the final decision there is really nothing you can do. Forget it and get on with you life. If this is your greatest disappointment in life you are lucky but more things will disappoint you, trust me.

the vagaries of the human race are well illuminated here on YA, my sympathies but that is par for the course, so we underlings bow our heads to the almighty moderator and hope he misses us this time OK? Good Luck

If you feel you have been improperly "violated", first use the LINK in the email to appeal it. Then, please post your concerns to this forum:
http://messages.answers.yahoo.com/answers/forumview?bn=SEA-ViolationsNotice
where they try to post a response (to the forum) within a few days and may send such things for reconsideration. Points, answers, even questions are being returned now, more than ever.

Whoever reported you interpreted your question as engaged in illegal activity (even though your father is now "going straight" as it were, and paying for the product he’d gotten for free).
Uh, since you got an answer, why do you ask if it was read by a human being. What do you think answered you?
No, it’s no longer true that all reports are read by staff.
