Illegal Immigrants. Do you agree with me?
Immigrants have recently protested. Refusing to do their jobs,and refusing to buy anything American. They were waving the flags of their home countries. Some had their flags above the American flag. Some were legal American citizens,they stated that their intent was to hurt the American economy to show how important they are.
I’m pretty sure that being in America,waving another nations flag,waving that flag ABOVE the American flag,and attempting to damage the American economy is treason! Am I right?
Or at least it should be!
I believe the punishment for treason is life imprisonment.
But, this is America. Instead of doing the right thing and punishing these people,or at least deporting them(that would be too much work)
We’ll probably do the easy thing(what we always do), and just say it’s OK and make them all legal.
I love America. But the fact that this has been alowed to go on this long sometimes makes me not so proud to be an American.
Alot of people seem to pick out the comment about the flag.
Let me clarify:
I meant that they were showing alligiance to another country by waving those flags.
I’m not certain,but I do believe it is illegal to fly another nations flag ABOVE the American Flag.
And they were’nt merely talking. They were refusing to do their jobs,and refusing to buy anything American in an effort to hurt the American economy to prove a point.

I would suggest looking up some of these things before posting your question. Waving other flags is treason? Life imprisonment?

I completely agree. To all you morons saying we stole this land, and they were here first, I have this to say: Pull your head out of your ass, and get a clue. It does not matter HOW this land became The USA, all that matters is that it IS the USA. No one treats the Mexicans like criminals, only the illegal immigrants, because they are in fact criminals. I know not ALL of the Mexicans feel like this, but there is a large group talking about taking back this land, and some other non sense, well that sounds like they are trying to wage war to me. While the flag flying may not be treasonous, surely trying to wage war is. The complete lack of common sense by certain people on here never ceases to amaze me.

We live in a free society with an almost unlimited right to protest. Remember some fanatical anti gay groups we’re picketing at soldiers funerals recently…waiving a Mexican flag in a protest won’t cut the legal mustard of treason.
But I agree with part of your assessment; the last part. Our nation has literally been invaded. Our government tolerated it, looked the other way, and ignored the laws of our land. They punish no employers of nearly 10.5 to 11 million illegal immigrants, they pass regulations saying they can’t even ask if someone is a resident before giving them free government services, and yet they expect us to pay taxes and follow the rules they want us too…its hypocritcal and sad.

The punishment for treason is DEATH. Unfortunately, I don’t think that act is treason. It’s unpatriotic and it’s extremely rude. In America we have the freedom of speech and they were talking. They now have to deal with what they said. Our reply is "secure our borders, we don’t want or need you here!"
Illegals do not benefit our society in any way!
I would like to see a CONDITIONAL amnesty given to all the illegals here now. (Assuming we are stopping more from coming in). The conditions …
They must learn basic English.
They must learn some American history and culture.
They must be financially dependent, i.e., either employed or have a financial sponsor.
They must swear their allegiance to America and be signed up for the draft. (Within the draft eligibility guidelines)
They must do this within a time frame, such as 1 year. If they don’t, or at least show effort after the time frame, they will be deported.

Well we have pissed them all off. I sit here and read racist and degrading remarks when they were here before we were. That’s what we really need, Mexican terrorist.
And if you think holding a Mexican flag higher than the American flag is TREASON, which it isn’t, what do you think about leaking the name of a CIA operative which puts everyone of them in jeopardy?
Waving someone elses flag isn’t treason. If it were all you rednecks from the South who love to wave the Conferderate Battle Flag would be in jail!

My god you are so uptight… its a flag.. whats your problem? In the protest they do that to get attention to their plight… do you even know their plight? You see the details but not the picture. If they were americans in China doing the same thing I bet you would cry with admiration for how great they are… probably even demand war with China to support them. America is a wonderful country which is why everyone wants to live here. I really don’t think that waving the Mexican flag is wrong because America allows everyone the freedom to express themselves. About the protest, many of those people didn’t want to miss there work, but they did so that people could realize that they do help the economy. Everyone talks about the Mexicans like they are criminals but can you really blame them for trying to help their families? Isn’t that what everyone wants?

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.

Bottom line: "Illegal" if any American does anything Illegal, they must answer for it and pay the price. If they are so valuable to our country, as they say, let them become citizens and ‘legal’, pay taxes and defend our country, not steal American benefits such as health care etc. and bring all their illegal drugs into our country. I have a lot more to say but I’ll save it for another time.
NOTE: Bush is not the answer!

I don’t agree with illegal immigrants – lets face it, its illegal. I come from England and we have the same problems here. When these people first come to a civilised country they are so happy to be out of a povity striken place where the governments have no conscience and treat their people like dogs, but it never takes them long to revert back to type. It is so diffcult to catch these illegals. They have their own network of people who hide them and given them jobs paying no tax. I hate it when people come to live in your country and then just take the P*** out of you.

Oh I believe that those whom raised their flag should be deported. It is not OK to make them all legal. There are steps on becoming an American Citizen. Enough is enough I think WE THE PEOPLE should have a boycott day, of getting our jobs back that went over seas, And shutting down Greedy Corporations.

It is not illegal to wave a flag above the Stars and Stripes. That is considered ‘free expression’ unless in some manner done to incite immediate violence. We only regulate time and manner of speech (no fighting words are protected, can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theater, etc.)
This is America. This is why we love it. The fact that they feel that way and are anti-American enough to actually do it sure makes us think we can do better from others of the millions of immigrants who would love to come here, though.
You can still be proud to be an American because America is still better than anyplace else. Let them wave their flags, who cares. Face it, they are the miserable ones, don’t let the scumbags make you feel miserable too. Life could be worse, you could be them. Be grateful for what you have. Thank God I am an American!
