Is it OK to say I do not respect the United States of America?
I have no respect or use for this USA. I served but I now say "I’m sorry for what I have done to the world in the name of the USA. I will soon tear up my DD Form 214 on CNN and then spit on the American Flag. Then I will walk away very proud. Of course before I walk away proud I will wipe my feet on the red white and blue. This is my freedom and I’m going to use it. If you are a veteran you can respond to this. If you are not a Veteran then you can not say anything to me. I served 6 years for the right to step on my American flag. ( Note:..My American Flag was made in Communist China and bought at Wal Mart )

Legally, you have the right, just as other people legally have the right to scorn you for these actions.
I personally respect what the US is supposed to stand for, but despise what the current administration has done to America.

You defended your right to do that.

It’s alright to say it, but you have to, in turn, realize that people have the right to disrespect your disrespect of your home country. They, too, have opinions that are covered through freedom of speech.

Sure its ok!
Maybe you can buy some domestically made ammunition and insert the lead part at high velocity into your skull causing the (apparently minimal) contents to be sprayed into a large circular pattern into the wall behind you? I promise you, you would not be missed.
(This is MY right to free speech also.)
Have a great day!

I think its ok to say you do not respect the American government.
The people who are in control and sent you to war.
But you don’t hate us, the citizens. So don’t say things like that.
Cause yahoo answers is global, and other countries will see that and hate us, the citizens, too. When they should be hating the USA’s powers that be.
When it is not my fault, and I hate what they have done to citizens of all countries, including my own.

Yes, that is part of our first amendment rights and your duty when you feel our government is corrupt or not serving the people well.
If it were any different we would not be living in a democracy, but tyranny.

since it’s America…it’s okay to say you do not respect the united states of america.
you’re allowed to have and voice personal beliefs about this country and what you have done in the name of this country.
shit…do it before your right to do it is taken away…just like all the other civil liberties that are being taken from us…

I did the Viet Nam thing….
I think it’s important to realize that there are two (at least) Americas
1> The government.
2> The people.
Never lose your respect for the people. The government can suck my flash suppressor…

If you dislike america so much why do you live here? Protecting your country is a waste of time? Protecting your family was not worth your time served? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Isn’t freedom grand?
You have every right to not respect this country but you do not have the right to spit on the flag or wipe your feet on it……six years isn’t a license to break the law. I do not know why you are so angry but as a veteran you have earned my respect. I teach in an elementary classroom and I do make it a point to teach respect of our veterans. I may have never served our country but I have sons who dream of attending the academies and serving their country. I can only pray they do not become as disillusioned as yourself. Right or Wrong the USA is the greatest nation on the earth and it can only get better if we join hands and work together. God Bless.

This is a freeland man … you can think and believe whatever you want without hurting other people of course. What you did you did it for a reason and you also believed in it, now that you know the face of the reality, you are trying to pass what you saw, but too many haven’t seen what’s really going on so they won’t pay attention to your lines. My advice is just keep it for yourself and you can pee, $hit or burn what was made in CHINA any time you want.

Sorry, I’m not a vet, but I’d like to respond anyway. I won’t begin to pretend to understand what it is like to serve in the military, so I’ll stay away from that. You obviously have very strong feelings versus something that the USA represents, however, at the same time you strongly support another thing that the USA represents (freedom). You go ahead and feel, say, and do whatever you want. Just keep in mind that there are many other countries in which you can choose to live, and you’re free to leave. You can’t freely do that in many other countries. I would caution you away from making such blanket statements about a USA that represents so many things, some of which I’m sure you are in favor of.
By the way, thanks for your 6 years.

It’s okay to say you don’t respect the USA, but as a citizen (veteran or no), I would ask you to do one of 2 things: Move to a country that you DO respect or change the country into one that you CAN respect. As citizens it is our duty to elect representatives who we feel will make changes that suit our needs. It is also our duty to fight for our beliefs. If your disrespect for the current government (and its people) means simply telling random people on Yahoo you don’t like it and (wishfully so) spitting on the American flag on CNN, then you’re just as disgraceful as the country you hate. If you’re not willing to make changes in the world around you (or at the very least, try), then you have no right to complain.

I would think that you would also want to reside in another country more to your liking. Yes the military defends your right to do what you are stating you will do (Its easy to get another copy of your DD-214) but I think you should take it all the way to the next level and move out.

Dude do you jack off when you talk about this stuff? it seems to be the only things you ever say so you must get some kind of relief from it.

You can say any stupid ol’ thing you want to, sodomite. It’s a free country, until you neo-Dems finally turn it into Amerika SSR.
Please tell me that you will leave the country for good, too. That would make me very happy.
Good luck with your path of hatred, bless your little heart.
