Six Flags Great Adventure from New York. Help please :[?
Okay so me and 13 of my friends are planning to go to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ tomorrow (9/4/09). Please help if you can :]. Thanks
Whats the best way to get there through public transportation?
How much will it cost?
What time does it departs for Six Flags?
I’m planning to buy a flash pass, and I heard you need a state ID? Is this true? And where can I purchase the flash pass?
Any tips for my day at Six Flags

Public Transportation information is available through the Six Flags Great Adventure directions website…

..you can scroll down all the way to the bottom where it will tell you which Mass Trans. bus to take to get to SFGA. In your case, you’ll take the train from NYC (or Newark) via the 308 line – Once you are on the SFGA directions website (the link I provided), you can click on the "NJ Transit" link that they provided which will take you to the information you need. The link will take you to the NJ Transit page that provides the time and prices of the bus you will take – you’ll take the bus from NY Port Authority Bus Terminal or Newark Penn Station (it’s an express bus to SFGA).
There is information on the website about the cost – if you are still not sure, then call the phone numbers that are provided to double check the cost and arrival/departure times.
Here is the NJ Transit website for your bus if you are not sure how to get to the info:

You may want to double check when this bus stops operating – I think Labor Day may be the last operating day.
So that is my answer for your public transportation question.
For your flashpass questions, you can go to the Six Flags Great Ad. FlassPass website:
http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/tickets/flashpass.aspx
All of the info is there (yes, you need an ID – the website lets you know which type of ID is accepted, and you can purchase online or "at The Flash Pass Booth, located between the Fountain and Ft. Independence."). I’ve never had the need to purchase a flash pass, so I can’t personally tell you how to get it – but the info is online.
Tips – Don’t go on Superman: Ultimate Flight in the morning – it’s one of the first coasters in the park, so the line is always long in the morning – go later like in later afternoon/evening when the line dies down. Kingda Ka seems to have a light line mid-day (around 3ish I can usually walk on – or wait 5-10 trains for the front row – but this depends on the weather for the day, good weather on weekend = crowded day; rainy forecast = short-line days) – Kingda Ka’s line gets bigger around sunset, also, people forget that once they enter Kingda Ka’s station, you can walk over the bridge to the other side to load onto the other 2 trains, so the wait is shorter on the other side. Nitro’s line moves relatively fast b/c they run 3 trains, so don’t be afraid of a line on that ride.
Good luck, have fun!
