Call Center Back Office: Data Entry

Data entry has been around in the spectrum of call center services for years. This essential back office call center process gets relegated to the sidelines primarily because of the non-glamorous nature of the job. Another factor that has contributed to this process going off the limelight is that you can get the work done pretty cheaply. All you need to do is outsource the project to offshore call centers in countries like India and the Philippines. These units get cheap labor on board; some even using labor sourced from rural or provincial areas. Because the job doesn’t involve much of creativity and is just about copying from one format to another, data entry doesn’t pay as much as their other telemarketing cousins. However, in the modern context of business, data entry is important, as much as it is necessary.

Data entry, to put it very simply, is getting the raw data transferred into a certain desired format. Call center agents employed for this purpose have to copy the raw data into formatted sheets, online or offline. This tabulated data is easier to interpret than their raw avatar. The BPO firms hired for this purpose are strictly cautioned about maintaining some kind of quality in the work that they do. There are experts at the end of the outsourcing firm who are checking up on the work that you submit. They are stringent and meticulous. Any wrong entry can upset the entire process. It’s the job of the call centers to ensure that there are no errors in the data that has been tabulated. Serial offenders are often stuck off the project and some other BPO service is hired. There is no dearth of call center services that provide data entry.

While that is a reality, it is also true that call center units don’t take the task lightly. Before getting people to work on data entry, they are generally subjected to tests and other means to determine their capability. Data entry needs concentration, focus and general alertness. There are no red flags that will be waved in case of erroneous entries. The agents have to be responsible about what they are doing. BPO agents are trained in the software or platform that they are going to work on. They are subjected to practicing dummy entries so that they get a hang of things. Once they pass the test, they are made available to the call center floor.

The data that is formulated can be anything from medical bills and records to credit card data and debt consolidation and recovery. In other words, the call centers have to be really careful about the work that they do. These are records that hold a lot of significance and importance for the consumers. If the BPO agents mess it up, it can lead to serious consequences. A little glitch anywhere could lead to something on a larger scale. The offshore call center units have begun to attach more importance to their data entry projects as the stakes got higher than usual.

I have heard sermons on Exodus before in my previous anti-faith church but they never told me of the gold and silver that the Israelites took from the Egyptians. I wonder if this is another conspiracy of Satan to keep christians out of the prosperity God wants us to have. Thank God, he has led me to the truth and enabled me to see his will for me.

In the above story, the Israelites were enslaved for generations. Life was hard. One day they couldn’t take it anymore and cried out to God for deliverance. God sent them a deliverer to bring them out of Egypt. However, in God’s mind, getting out of bondage is not enough. There must be compensation. He wanted the Israelites to go to their Egyptian neighbours and asked for articles of silver and gold and fine clothings. So the Israelites did not leave empty handed. The left Egypt as rich men and women.

What were the gold and silver for? Answer, as compensation for the generations of slavery and oppression.

What is God’s message here?

No matter what troubles you are facing now, God is determined to take you out. Not only that he wants you to be compensated for the losses and sufferings you went through. Isn’t God good?

The next question, does God expect your oppressor(s) to pay you back exactly what you have lost? The answer is no.

30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.

31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house.

Proverbs 6:30-31(NIV)

God’s will is for you to receive 7 times your losses as compensation!

What is your response to this? Are you going remain passive when you were undergoing trials or will you choose to align yourself with God and demand 7 fold compensation from your oppressor?

Here is an example:

Imagine this scenario, one day you were knocked down by a car driven by a drunk driver when you were walking down the street. Your leg was broken and you were sent to the hospital. The police investigated the accident, found the culprit, arrested him and charged him in court. After he was found guilty, he was punished according to the law.

Is justice done?

Yes.

Is this case over for you?

No.

Why?

Who is going to pay for your medical bill?

Who is going to compensate you for your sufferings and pains you have to endure?

Who is going to compensate you for the loss of income and career opportunities while you were lying in the hospital?

Will you not press charges on the scum who knocked you down and demand compensation?

Isn’t this the right thing to do?

Now, if you can do that to people, why not the devil?

Here is a more spiritual scenario.

A man had been suffering back pain for the past 10 years. He had been trying every cure he could find but fail to heal his back. All of a sudden God healed him.

Is this good?

Yes.

Is this worth celebrating and thank God for?

Of course!

Is this case over?

No!

Who is going to pay for the sufferings the man had gone through for the past 10 years?

Who is going to pay for the medical bills he paid for the past 10 years?

Who is going to pay for the loss of opportunities due to the back condition for the past 10 years?

The devil! Make the scum pay! Get him to pay for all your sufferings and losses with interest and multiply by 7! This will teach him a lesson he will never forget.

How to do it?

Through your confession and prayers.

Say this to the devil, “Devil, I command you in Jesus’s name, remove your oppression/ bondage from me right now! I demand full compensations from you for the sufferings and losses I incurred from you oppression. I seal this claim by the Blood of Jesus.”

If you keep demanding compensation, the devil will have to think twice before he plans to attack you again.

In the above testimony, I had suffered from the devil’s lies. In the first 10 years of my christian life, I was deceived by the devil through his corrupt preachers. They gave me the wrong impression of God that had successfully cut me off from the God who loves me. I suffered from their lies.

In the end God delivered me, and shown me the truth. However, I am not going to let the matter rest. I have demanded compensation from the devil. I want to make the devil pays so dearly that he will tremble in fear the next time he plans an attack on me again.

I want to look at the devil in the eye and say, “Remember me devil. Remember my name. Remember my face. Remember my voice because from now on I am your greatest nightmare!”

How about you? Are you going to remain passive and let the devil trample you and treat you like a door mat? It is time to stand up and exercise the right Jesus has bought with his Blood. Stand up to the devil and declare your freedom!

It’s Back to Basics

Perhaps not surprisingly, some sales today are rising out of sheer necessity, like buying food, clothing and shelter.  In fact, men and women today are in the midst of a significant re-ordering of their priorities back to the basics.

For example, the basic necessities of life at “everyday low prices,” has clearly accounted for Wal-Mart Stores’ 7.2% sales increase during fiscal year 2008 to 1.244 billion.  In addition, operating income was also up by 3.0% to .254 billion.  In fact, “Wal-Mart recorded the strongest sales result in its history in the fourth quarter, with 8 billion in sales,” said Mike Duke, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. president and chief executive officer.  He concluded with this statement “We achieved this through the hard work of our associates, helping our customers save money so they can live better.”

Nor was Wal-Mart the only major player achieving some success recently, although this company has certainly been a standout exception in general in the current global recession.  Still another excellent example of swimming upstream in the current global economy would have to be AutoZone, which recently reported its fiscal 2nd quarter profit rose 8.6%, as its sales were lifted by cost-conscious customers who have decided to repair their aging cars instead of buying a new one.  

For the quarter ended February 14, 2009, the largest US auto-parts retailer by sales reported net income of 5.9 million, or .03 a share, up from a year ago.  As gas prices dropped last year, parts retailers started to see gains.  Two weeks ago, the company’s key competitor, Advanced Auto Parts, projected a double-digit commercial same-store-sales growth projection for 2009.  (Source:  The Wall St. Journal, March 4, 2009).

Oak Brook, IL based McDonald’s Corporation has also seen Americans flocking to their stores for a cheaper mealtime alternative.  Because this great company has been making many “right decisions” on a global basis, its same-store sales world-wide increased 5.4%.  In fact, US same-stores sales have actually increased by 6.8% (Source:  The Wall St. Journal, March 10, 2009).  Overall, McDonald’s has been on a roll since 2003, when it chose to halt its rapid expansion in favor of other back to basic strategies, which have collectively worked.

It also may surprise you to learn that Discover, the sixth-largest credit card issuer, actually saw its earnings jump +57% in the past fiscal year at a time when AmEX declined 34% and Capital One even experienced a million loss.  At a time of problems in the mortgage market, Discover had earlier flagged borrowers with two home loans, keeping their credit limits low, for example (Source:  BusinessWeek, February 23, 2009).  Discover also wanted to grow itself internationally and last summer picked up Diners Club, which is accepted in 185 countries, from Citigroup Management. In a tough economy, a basic credit card, which simply gets the job done, works just fine.

Finally, even on the housing front for some of my fellow baby boomers, it may be back to the basics for a housing solution to take care of an aging parent or two.  Instead of sending Mom or Dad off to an assisted living facility or perhaps a nursing home, some baby boomers are today choosing a house in the next chapter of their life with Mom or Dad in mind.  Specifically, they may also be pooling assets/incomes in order to buy their next home together.  In this way, for a spouse who stays at home or for someone with a home-office based company, you can literally see Mom or Dad every day or even multiple times throughout the day.

Of course, this “new” approach actually represents a solution from an earlier generation in America, where three generations or more of a given family used to sometimes live together under the same roof.

In fact, the Armstrong-Roush family owns a home and property right now just exactly like what I just described, where our family has lived successfully together over the past 12 years, initially with both of my wife’s parents and more recently with just my mother-in-law after the death of my wife’s father.  And, right now, our great home with approximately 5,600 square feet on one floor located on a heavily-wooded property, which includes a one-acre pond and a four-horse barn in McHenry County, Illinois, is FOR SALE.

Get On Page One Of Google Without Any Back links

There is huge push right now among internet marketers to sell you software that will automatically get you backlinks to your site through RSS feeds or by doing auto submissions of articles. Don’t fall for it. Automating these tasks will most surely throw a red flag to Google and they will most likely eventually ban your domain from their search listings. Not that I’m against RSS feeds or article marketing, in fact I use them both, but if you’re going to spend your hard earned money on something to boost your search engine results at least spend it on a good SEO course.

Contrary to what you may have been told it is not that difficult to get on page one of Google through simple search engine optimization.  As a matter of fact over a longer period of time you will get to page one and stay there much longer if you do it through SEO than thru any tricky backlink maneuver. SEO is not as hard as you think. Will optimizing your site be enough to get you to page one in a very competitive market like “weight loss”? I doubt it, but it’s not hard to get to page one for longer tailed keywords. And I don’t mean 4-5 word phrases that no one ever searches for, but 2-3 word phrases that get search anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000 times a month. Doing SEO can get you on page one for them, no problem.

Most people believe that search engine optimization is some complicated project that is constantly changing. This simply isn’t true. The same honest SEO that got your site on page one a year ago will still be working 10 years from now. Proper keyword selection, choosing the right domain name, making your page title keyword rich and relevant to your content and naming your pages correctly will always work.

Auto generating keyword heavy content that makes no sense to the reader  will not. The engines have become way too sophisticated for that. No, instead trying actually writing some good content, keeping it focused on your topic and use tags like the “heading” tag and the right anchor text for internal links in manner that would make sense to real live human and the search engines will love you. It takes no less time to write good content as it does to try and implement some search engine manipulation plan that isn’t going to work for long. And a site with quality content will stay on top of the listings much longer.

Is there work that needs to be done up front? Of course. Doing keyword research to find out what search terms people are actually typing into the search engine boxes is a start. Once you’ve determined that it is actually quite easy to get a keyword rich domain name and build your content around what people are searching for. Remember it doesn’t do you any good to rank high for terms that no one searches with. Keep that in mind next time some guru gives you examples of sites that they have on page one. See if anyone is actually looking with those search phrases.

The rest of the work involved is mainly just writing to inform the reader. Creating valuable content on your site that keeps them there. Search engines pick up durations of visits, so make sure you have a site worth looking at. Creating a site as a source of information with the right keywords and you can be on page one of Google in no time.

Cauda Equina Syndrome more than Back Pain – Red Flags of danger

Back pain can be, well a real pain in the backside quite literally. 

Much of the population, seven out of 10 suffer lower back pain at some stage of their life. Sometimes it is simple to rid sometimes more difficult.

Although back pain is a very common condition it can be rather uncomfortable but not generally serious. It is useful when trying to understand reasons for back pain to have good notion on the parts and functions of the area.

The structure of the back consists of:

24 Vertebrea (small bones) which support the body weight and form a protective canal for the spinal cord.

Intervertebral discs which cushion the bones and allow the spine to move.

Ligaments which hold vertebrae and discs together

Tendons which connect muscles and vertebrae.

Spinal Cord, which is a nerve signal carrier between the brain and the rest of the body

Pain in the lower back is usually thought of as a symptom of stress or trauma to ligaments, muscles, tendons or discs. A well known and common pain is called Sciatica. Sciatica is a general term as is Lumbago for lower back pain.

This is where a nerve in the back is pinched or irritated. Pain can radiate down the buttocks, thighs, side of the knee, down to the foot and toes. The lower down the body the pain or nerve discomfort is the found the more serious the trauma or trap to the nerve.

There can be many reasons for lower back pain, such as slipped or prolapsed disc, minor trauma and even arthritis. 

Back pain usually lasts between a few days and six or seven weeks. On most occasions lower back pain will be self rectifying. If a sufferer has concerns then they should consult their medical practitioner straight away. Sometimes pain can persist for several months or longer (chronic back pain)

There is another condition affecting the lower back that can have serious consequences on the sufferer and it is important that once symptoms of  are found that the medical condition known as Cauda Equina Syndrome is ruled out by medical professionals as soon as possible

Cauda Equina, is so named because the area of nerves look like a horses tail.

The condition known as Cauda Equina develops when the nerves in this location suffer trauma, when this happens it is known as Cauda Equina Syndrome.

The following are known as Red Flag Symptoms:

Bladder dysfunction

Bowel dysfunction

Weakeness in both legs

Numbness in the saddle area (around the anus)

Sexual dysfunction and sensation

Severe pain.

Red Flag Symptoms demand immediate medical attention

Once symptoms present it is expected that the sufferer has a maximum of 48 hours to have corrective treatment, failure may result in permanent damage.

The medical world does little to inform and advise of the dangers of Cauda Equina Syndrome.

I Dumped my Girlfriend, Now I Want Her Back
