I am in the process of installing a suspended ceiling in my recroom. And the room will be set up with all nascar things. As far as the ceiling goes i have taken 4 of the 2×4 ceiling tiles and painted them white and then i am going to paint black squares on these tiles to make it look like a checkered flag. The tiles will then be installed above my bar. Question i have is that i want to install black lights above the bar by these 4 tiles. I have already set the black light by the tile and the tile will not stand out like the color white should with a black light. Does anyone know of a white paint i could use that would stand out to the black light?

Now THAT was a great ending to a race. Jimmie lost it,(darn it) but that’s the kind of ending I like in a race! No green, white checkered flag, no caution ending the race, just good ole’ fashioned racing!

Winter Glory…yeah, tell me about it. I was standing six inches in front of my television on the restart. I don’t even remember how I got there from my chair.

I did come up with this poem in fifth grade for my poetry book so yeah it might sound a little elementary. But what a good way to get kids themselves interested in the sport and better yet into Chevy.

I was thinking of a way to make a tattoo that would be for all my kids (I only have 1 daughter right now, but I’m wanting 3 kids all together). I am going to wait to do this after I’ve had all my kids. I’m wanting to put it on my ankle. But I was thinking each birth month has its own flower so I was wanting to put each flower from each of my kids’ birthmonth into some pretty design with each of their names or initials in it somehow… what do you think of that?? I think it would be cute, I don’t want it giagantic just a nice sized ankle tattoo…

another tattoo I want is this: I was watching LA ink one day & this one woman got a pin up type girl tattoo. Well I drag race & I was thinking of getting a pin up type girl in like a racing suit holding a checkered flag with race girl underneath it or something … I dunno, it was just an idea.

On a particular August sunny Sunday my out dated late model stockcar sat on the starting grid for a Cup race that NO ONE picked me to win or even finish descent at. You see all the other teams had brand new shiny stockcars…current (at the time) models while my team was strapped for cash. Our car was several years old and wasn’t very fast….the car had never finished higher than 16th. The race began and I started gaining positions. Half way thru guess what….yep I am 16th. But in the final laps I made a desperate attempt to get the lead which panned out! I was leading! The little car that no one believed in including myself….took the checkered flag!!!! It was considered one of the biggest upsets in the history of NASCAR. The team I won for drifted back into obscurity the little car never finished higher than…you guessed it…16th again. And neither did I. I went on to be a journeyman in high demand…but the wins never came again. But I was popular in the 80′s covering the sport I loved in a different capacity.
So here is my question…..who is the driver I am speaking of?
What team or who were the owners of the little car? What mfg? What car #? What race and what year did this occur????

Ok, one of my friends is getting married a little before me. I know this is her wedding and she should do what she wants to do and I’m not going to say a word to her about it, but, i have to vent. She’s having a primary red and primary yellow wedding. It reminds me of ketchup and mustard, or mcdonalds. She’s doing it this way for their fave Nascar driver? And on the way up the aisle the flower girls are sprinkling black and white confetti, like a checkered flag, instead of flowers. Like I said, I’m not mentioning this at all to her or the wedding party, just as i’m sure not everyone will love my wedding, i’m not to fond of this. Just wanted thoughts and opinions from others.
Yeah, like I said, I’m not saying anything. It doesn’t bother me, just wanted to see if i was alone in my opinion. As I said, I’m happy for her and it’s her day. Love the black and white film idea!
Somebody asked for my wedding colors.. Plum with aqua accents. Also my flowers are going to be hibiscus themed, not traditional roses. My dress is white with a color panel in the bottom back, though I haven’t decided if i want that color to be plum or aqua yet. Ok, criticize away people lol! Love love love!!

Just curious, did you enjoy the 2008 season and are you disappointed about it coming to an end? Or are you looking forward to 2009 even more than ’08? Also, can we all honor the winless drivers in 2008? Basically any driver not named Johnson, Edwards, Biffle, Bowyer, Burton, Hamlin, Stewart, Busch, Earnhardt, Kahne, or Newman? There where 71 drivers that ran in a Cup race in 2008, and only 12 made it to victory lane. They all worked hard and raced their heart out whether they were in 36 races or 1 race, and some were trying to qualify their way in races all year. They deserve credit even though they didn’t take a checkered flag first. Have a great off-season, everyone!

I am very upset.I think Regan should have won.It wasn’t fair.Contact NASCAR at fanfeedback@nascar.com and complain and tell them how you feel.This is what I wrote to them:
NASCAR,
I think you need to figure out your rules and get them straight because I am very very upset over how you handled the finish at Talladega.If you looked at the video of the finish,clearly Regan Smith was forced down below the yellow line by Tony Stewart.It wasn’t his choice.And no I am not a Tony Stewart hater so this is not the reason why I am complaining.I am complaining because I wish that someone would get their rules straight because if I recall,there was a Truck race last year at Daytona where there was a 3 truck finish at the line and Johnny Benson was aloud to go below the yellow line and inprove his position and he didn’t get in trouble for it.Regarding the situation and why Johnny Benson was not penalized,A NASCAR Spokesman,Owen Kearns said,and I quote,"if you can see the checkered flag on the last lap,anything goes."
So where do you really stand regarding that rule NASCAR?Please inform me.What is the exact rule here?Why don’t you make your rules public to the fans so we know what is going on and what is/isn’t allowed?Then maybe we would understand a little better.
Regan Smith clearly deserved to win that race and if he wasn’t allowed to go below the yellow line,then don’t let others do it too.It’s not fair.At least give him 2nd and don’t penalize him and put him to 18th.It was the last freakin lap…give me a break.
I have seen plenty of times,including the 07 Daytona 500, where it is a green white checkered finish,or the last lap and they start wrecking.Well the rule is that the race is supposed to end and whoever is in the lead when they start wrecking wins the race…You let them race to the end for the fans purpose.That’s not exactly sticking to the rules.I think you definitely stretch the rules a little when you want to.We all know that.You can’t hide that.And the only reason why you made it this way and scored Stewart as the winner is because Regan Smith is not a big name in NASCAR.Dale Sr got away with a lot of stuff in the past and guaranteed if Dale Jr was in Regan’s position today,we would all see a different winner right now.We trust you NASCAR to make it fair for everyone each weekend and we don’t apprecaite this.
So next time NASCAR stick with the rules for everybody and get it straight.Don’t play favorites.Or if your so confident that you made the right choice and that Regan clearly was in the wrong,THEN SHOW US THE RULES AND PROVE IT TO US.
