I feel bitter about Obama’s win. This guy associated with so many radicals I can’t believe he represents the U.S. Yet he won. After he reached the 270 mark, all I could think was the confederate flag and I wonder why because I never thought highly of it. I’m starting to think about buying a t-shirt with a confederate flag or possibly buying a Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt since they have so many t-shirts with the confederate flag; but I’m from a Northern state. How do you people who didn’t support Obama feel? Do you feel like getting or worshipping the confederate flag? This is the weirdest feeling I had in my life.

I’m just curious. Frankly, as a Jew, I see the confederate flag as the equivalent for blacks, as a nazi flag would be for Jews. Is a hanging noose just as offensive? I don’t see any place in society for the confederate banner, or nooses for that matter.

John McCain is pro gun control, pro illegal alien amnesty, started campaign finance reform, voted twice against tax cuts, wants to shut down Guantanimo and end enhanced interrogations, and is a Global Warming issue beater…Oh yeah, he refuses to drill in ANWR, but chooses to buy oil from Arab countries instead. He spoke out against the South’s right to fly the Confederate flag in 2000, then changed his mind when he saw it would lose him the state to George Bush.

However, he is the Republican nominee.

Will you grant him amnesty for the times he turned his back on you in the past?
Ohh I almost forgot, he left the mother of his children in 1980 for Cindy, whom he met in 1979 at a Navy function. She is 18 years younger then him. Does that go hand in hand with conservative family values?

my brother is becoming more & more like the boys his age in the church that we go to, who are from the south.

& he wants to buy a belt buckle online that has the confederate flag on it.

he asked me what the flag meant and I told him that it was from when the confederacy wanted to succeed from the union, and was fighting over states rights, including slavery.

I told him that he shouldn’t get it because it represents things that are not right, and can cause a lot of grief, sadness, or anger in people when they see it.

I think he sort of listened to me, butt doesnt understand because he thinks these people that he admires can do no wrong because they are ‘biblical’.

Considering the Confederate flag is considered racist and flew over the south for only 4 years and th U.S. Flag had flown over the slaves from the time they were bought from the blacks in Africa and sold in the North. Why?

it is a brewing controversy here in florida. currently, we have 80 "specialty" tags to include one which reads "choose life". these tags are optional and you would have to pay extra money for one. a black state representative is moving to block the sale of confederate flag plates. personally, i don’t see what is wrong with having them. i fly my confederate flag with malice toward none. it is a source of great pride to me. you may have heard the phrase "heritage, not hatred". all the folks i know who fly the stars and bars, do it with their proud heritage in mind. so, what about it? freedom of expression or more political correctness? i had hoped that we had come far enough in this country that this would not even be an issue (just like the coaches in this year’s superbowl).

My roommate has a 4′X6′ confederate flag that she is thinking about selling. She would like to get some prices and such to see if she actually wants to sell it. I looked around a bit on eBay but didn’t see anything like this.

The flag was one of the last confederate flags to fly over the South Carolina State Capitol Building in Columbia, SC before the law went into effect banning it. There is a signed certificate signed by Rep. Herb Kirsh on June 26, 2000 and the flag is presereved neatly in its box.

Does anyone know of websites or specialty stores for collectors of such memoribilia to get ideas on how much something like this is worth ? Thanks!
