Boosting Your eBay Auction Profits: Just Add Audio

Boosting Your eBay Auction Profits: Just Add Audio

The psychology behind this technique is really Marketing 101. It’s called personalization. An audio clip added to your eBay auction allows you to personally tell the potential bidder about the product. Using your own voice allows you to make contact with the bidder on a personal level that written words cannot. Because, that’s what your eBay auction really is…It’s just a long written classified ad asking the bidder to make an offer to purchase your item.

Prior to the advent of the telephone the only reliable way to communicate long distance was by writing letters. It was not unusual back then for lovers to write each other daily or weekly. The decline of letter writing is a well documented event that coincides with the advent of the telephone.

With audio you can describe the item, tell the bidder why you are selling it or even communicate with them about your refund policy or provide your contact information. The possibilities are almost unlimited as a way to establish a rapport with the bidder.

But, the most important reason to add audio clips is that it makes it easy to convey excitement and invoke emotion, giving you a really powerful selling-edge.

How to add audio to a web site:

The simplest way is to upload a .wav or Mp3 file to a website and provide a link to the file. When the bidder clicks on the link his or her computer will automatically recognize the file and play it with the audio player on the bidders computer.

There are some drawbacks to this method. If the bidder’s computer doesn’t recognize the file it won’t play. The overall effect is not as professional as it could be and it distracts the bidder. If you are a reasonably tech savvy type you can easily deal with the drawbacks of this approach.

For the rest of us, there are a number of software solutions and websites that will simplify the task of adding audio to our eBay auctions.

Here are two:

Audio Maker Pro – http://audiomaker.thynke.com – (The one I use and recommend)

Sound Streamer – http://soundstreamer.thynke.com – (Less expensive)

Different programs and websites range from charging a one time fee to monthly fees for the use of the program. The good news is that many will let you test them for as little as for a trial basis or let you download a demo version to see how well it will work for you. The psychology behind this technique is really Marketing 101. How to Make Money on Ebay Through Well Planned Holiday Sales

How to Make Money on Ebay Through Well Planned Holiday Sales

One of the best ways to make money on eBay is by taking advantage of holidays for extra sales. In fact there is a huge opportunity to make money on eBay by focusing all of your sales efforts on holiday sales. The good news is that there are holidays almost every month of the year! With a little creativity unique products can be offered that will make you stand apart form the crowd at every holiday.

It doesn’t matter whether you will be conducting business from your home, or from a huge business complex. It doesn’t matter whether you are selling ten items or nine-hundred items per month. In every situation, business planning is required. While business planning is not a lot of fun, it significantly increases the likelihood of business success. There are many steps that need to be included in your pre-planning before you even begin to develop your formal business plan. Many of these steps are designed to give you a quick start as you develop your formal business plan and kick off business operations.

The following examples are U.S. holidays and events that are commonly celebrated. A much longer list can easily be developed. A list of special holidays and celebrations for any country or culture can easily be developed.

January: New Years

February: Valentines Day

March: St. Patrick’s Day

April: Easter

May: Memorial Day

Mother’s Day

June: Flag Day

Father’s Day

July: U.S. Independence Day

August Back-To-School

September: Labor Day

Grandparent’s Day

October: Halloween

November: Veteran’s Day

Thanksgiving

December: Christmas

These are just a few examples. There are many, more holidays that can be used as the basis of a seller’s product theme. Look around the world, and you will be amazed at the potential this strategy offers to those who want to make money on eBay.

When focusing on holiday sales, product ideas can include specialized products for the specific holiday. For example, if your product line includes toys, top selling toy-items for Christmas can become your primary focus. You can also make money on eBay by simply using a holiday as a period to ramp your sales levels to new heights.

If you are searching for a product area, consider building sales around products that are developed specifically for the holidays. Possibly buying, or even creating gift baskets for Valentine’s Day might be possible. Baskets could contain popular, brand name fragrances or hand and body creams. Add a bow and you have a very eye-catching and unique product to sell.

Another popular idea is to offer gift wrapping that is right for the holidays. Make money on eBay by adding free gift wrapping as a bonus to a Valentine’s Day gift item that is purchased from you at auction during the first weeks of February, for example.

Whether a seller decides to develop items to sell during all major holidays, or simply to focus on a few key holidays, there is the opportunity to make money on eBay using this strategy. With a little bit of creativity all sellers can stand apart from the crowd. Use your imagination and develop products or focus existing product sales on special holidays.

To your eBay success!

How much should I offer for a used Saab?

I am looking at a used 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero. It’s a beautiful car with pretty much all of the options except navigation. The interior and exterior are both in near perfect shape. The only problem is that its classified by its home state of Oklahoma as a rebuilt vehicle, which eBay has flagged as salvaged as well as two minor flaws involving a cup holder and the headlights not "cornering." I don’t really have a problem with that, but I don’t know what a good asking price would be for this vehicle. Kelley Blue Book doesn’t provide price standards for salvaged/rebuilt vehicles and the "Buy it Now" price on eBay is ,999. Please help

using moneygram on ebay?

Hello,

I recently found a car I liked on craigslist, super cheap for what it’s really worth. But the seller wanted me to pay via ebay saying it’s more secure. I agreed, but after recieving the invoice supposedly from ebay, I did some research. The seller had posted the same car in multiple cities on craigslist which got flagged for removal. I asked her about it, and recieved a "switching the subject" response. The other fishy thing was that they wanted me to pay using moneygram on "ebay". I researched this as well, and ebay actually said that they don’t allow for that. They only do paypal or in person, and that it’s a big sign of a scam.

I have to admit, instead of just using ebay, the seller had it posted on craigslist. The price was just too good, which I had to talk myself out of. I wanted to warn anyone who might be going through the same thing that it’s probably a scam…

ebay said there are spoof emails that look so legit, so be careful everyone! There are even fake ebay sites!

Craigslist suggested to do local buyers anyway to avoid scams, and they were also against moneygram on their site.

below is what ebaymotors said to lead me to my conclusion of NOT getting the car: Note the section that states NO MONEYGRAM

http://pages.motors.ebay.com/buy/security/index.html

And I have to add, another yahoo ?/ anwer blog helped me decide too. The person recieved an email VERY similar to mine.

Hope I can help!

Wii games won't play in my Wii. Fake games?

I bought a bundle of Wii games on eBay from a seller in the U.K. He had over 60 100% positive feedback and nothing that raised a red flag. On the eBay listing he stated that these games are NTSC and will only work on American/Canadian consoles and modded Wiis.

I have tried to play all 16 games and I can’t get a single game to register in my U.S. Wii. The first thing I noticed about the discs is that they all look different than a standard NTSC label. First off, some of the labels look dark. Secondly, they all have a box with colored number of varying sorts under the "Wii" mark. On one it says "RVLU 3311." On another it says "0062."

The labels say they are NTSC and for use only in USA, Canada, Mexico and Latin America. Some of them also say DVD ROM D9.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?
I forgot to mention that none of the games came with their original boxes. So the only thing I have to go off of is the disc itself. All of the discs say they are NTSC somewhere on the disc.

Should I be worried about having my identity stolen?

This is the first time I’ve been able to sit down and relax since 8:00 this morning.
Who wants to hear about my day?
Okay, so a few days ago, I posted an ad on Craigslist selling my portable DVD player and 3 Disney DVD’s. A woman named "Judith" replied. She said that she was interested, and that she would pay me 0.00 + the cost of express mail international shipping. Everything looked legit. Then I got an email from Paypal stating that I’d just recieved an instant payment from her. It stated that I had to ship the items, and then email proof of shipping, and that then my paypal acount would be credited. So, this morning, I went down to the post office, packaged up the item, paid the in shipping, and emailed the tracking number.
THEN I started reading things on the internet, and realized that I was being scammed. I was freaking out, because my boyfriend warned me of this, but I shurgged it off, and said it was okay because I got an email from paypal. I went and looked at the email from "paypal" again, and saw that the email address that it was sent from (small, in bracketts) was not paypal. It was something like shipping.proof@consultant.com or something like that. So, I sent the emai to Paypal, and they emailed me back and said that it was a phishing email. Right away, I called my Mom. She said to call the post office, and then go pick up the package. That’s exactly what I did. I got the package back, and my money back, and I sent this so called "judith Pope" a nasty email. It shoud have been a red flag when she said she wanted it shipped to NIGERIA. For some reason it wasn’t. My parents also lended me each so that I can buy healthy foods still.
I love my parents. I love Andree too, but I hate that he always has to be right, and most of the time is, so I think I’m going to keep my story for the day to myself. From now on, I only sell through ebay.
should i be worried about my identity being stolen? the only info they have is my first and last name, my address, and my email.
