Why Marketers Should Consider Implementing Event Triggered Marketing Campaigns

Why Marketers Should Consider Implementing Event Triggered Marketing Campaigns

Even though many marketers have considered event-triggered marketing, they normally go with more simplistic applications, such as one-off email initiatives. For example, a customer who experiences a technical glitch or abandons an online shopping cart may receive an automatically pushed message.

Large databases and good timing are no longer sufficient to gain new customers and/or effectively market to existing ones. Traditional marketing practices are now dated, as there are significantly more channels for building two-way customer relationships, from phone to print to web to email. Thus, dated one-dimensional practices must evolve, just as the technology has.

Current event-triggered campaigns require two things: a way to track and capture previous customer interactions across all points of contact, and a way to use that information to personalize messages. Using collected customer data to effectively trigger personalized marketing messages, offers, and initiatives is a key component of a successful event-triggered campaign.

Research from Gartner suggests that an event-triggered campaign can save up to 80 percent of a marketer’s direct mail budget. This is accomplished by delivering targeted on-demand services, such as signing up a customer for a new rewards club, rather than mass printing and mailing a brochure. So, while there may be upfront costs in changing existing processes and technologies, the long term payout will be worth the effort. And that’s just the beginning.

Once cross-channel event-triggered marketing has been decided upon as a strategic initiative, marketers can easily define goals in terms the entire organization can understand. These include new customer acquisitions as well as increased revenue from existing customers due to highly targeted up-sell and cross-sell offers. Now that marketers can show up to the bargaining table with clearly defined goals and budgets, they are in a much more favorable bargaining position for getting the required funding for technology, as well as approval of new processes, necessary components for making event-triggered marketing part of a long term strategy.

To start, marketers must define the goals of an event-driven campaign for both new and returning customers. It may be easier to initially focus on one group as a way to test the effectiveness of the campaign on a smaller scale. Start by effectively setting benchmarks that are easily quantifiable and checkable throughout the campaign.

Next, it is vital to look at your existing technologies and processes. You will need to ensure that the correct technology is in place, and that you are using it to collect data from all customer channels. Just as important, your technology must allow for you to leverage collected customer data, and it should flag anything that is not conforming to your established metrics so that you can make the necessary adjustments.

Gartner has found that event-triggered messages have a response rate that is five times higher than that of non-targeted push messages. These results are attainable for campaigns than pull information from a single database that has automatically tracked customer data from all points of customer contact, from brick and mortar stores to websites to customer support calls and more. If these communications between the customer and company aren’t used, it’s much more difficult to measure the effect of cross-selling or up-selling customers. By using event-triggered methods based on previous customer actions and trends, marketers gain a full set of tools to initiate new contacts, and bring old ones back for more.

The Death Of mail Marketing?

The Death Of mail Marketing?

Many Internet marketers have deduced that email marketing faces the worst crisis since its discovery. They ground this conclusion on the massive increase of unsolicited emails known better as SPAM. Recent Research has proved that the clicks of every email campaign have been reduced to the lowest point. Before few years email campaigns were very productive with click percentage of 15%-25%. Unfortunately this ratio has dropped to 2% today.

Since every internet user receives a huge amount of spam email messages, the time for distinguishing the legal opt-in subscriptions messages from spam has increased considerably. Therefore it’s highly possible for the user to erase the genuine messages with the spam messages.

Although these facts are true, the “Death of email marketing” as some internet marketers call it, will not happen. Solid proofs for that are the many corporations, small businesses, and home business entrepreneurs running successful and profitable email campaigns.

All these successful email marketing campaigns do have something in common, some specific principals that any online business entrepreneurs should incorporate into their marketing plans.

1. Personalization. Research has proven that when Personalization is used the click through rate of the email increases dramatically. The friendly tone is the key to build rapport with the subscriber. Most of the autoresponder services and email software contain this feature. One thing must be specified though. There must be no exaggeration in the personalization otherwise the results will be reversed.

2. Email marketing schedules. The frequency of the mailings is extremely important. Although it seems tempting to send emails daily, with that strategy many of the subscribers will unsubscribe, especially if the mails contain advertisements most of the times and not useful information. One of the best email marketing tactics is to broadcast one time per week and not exceed two times per week maximum.

3. Which is the Best Day for campaigns? The answer is simple, Friday. The internet user has the whole weekend to check his email and distinguish the spam with the luxury of time, something not possible in other days of the week.

4. Use of double opt-in. The subscribers who signed double opt-in are extremely targeted, because they verified their interest for the newsletter and they are more disposed to buy the products or services the email list owner recommends. Plus, this feature provides maximum safety to newsletter owner from spam complaints and the relevant consequences.

5. Recommend not sell, plus unique content. The internet user searches for information on the internet. The same happens with the user’s email. The subscription happens for that reason for over 95% of the times. The messages must contain a combination of useful information and personal recommendations of tested and proven products or services.

6. No Co-Registrations. This is the easy way to boost the number of the subscribers on the email list. Co-Registrations offer forms to users with many other email list owners with different fields of interest. The danger of spam accusations relies on that method and the effectiveness is questionable.

7. Buying leads to send emails. Another hyped email marketing technique. The list owner who bought the leads will not be clearly informed how the “subscriber’s” emails have been acquired. Have they been gathered with ethical opt-in methods or email script crawler has been used? There is no control on that tactic and here too relies the danger of spam accusations.

8. No Red flag words. Words and phrases like free, discount, bonus, make money, opportunity, income .e.t.c. lead the email to spam folders. These phrases should be avoided at all costs.

Internet Marketing and Twitter – The Revolution Explained

Internet Marketing and Twitter – The Revolution Explained

Hello again,

Today I would like to talk a little bit about Twitter – yes, as it relates to internet marketing and your online business. Some people seem to think that Twitter is nothing more than a big waste of time, used by kids and online geeks to see who can out do each other with their number of followers. But is there more to it than that? You better believe it!

Twitter has become a huge phenomenon in the past year, and is actually building in size more and more almost every month in signups and number of people “tweeting” each other. One reason for this is that many have found out about the viral aspect of the site, and how easy it is to get hundreds and even thousand of people to follow you in a short amount of time. The beauty of it is, you can chose a specific “topic” that relates to whatever you wish, and draw in followers that are also interested in this topic. Why is that important? Find a targeted market, send them good content, and you may just have the makings for some quick cash my friend.

How is that possible? Well there are ways to actually send targeted messages on a regular basis to your followers, and if it’s good content the more people will follow you as well. You say you don’t have time for this foolishness? Me neither, which is why I’m on TweetLater.com, which is a service with a free version and a paid version that can allow you to send out pre-written messages (tweets) at certain intervals of your choosing. With the paid version, you can even rotate different messages, send them at staggered times throughout the day, and manage multiple Twitter accounts as well. With TweetLater pro version you can do much more, including filter out spam by certain keywords. and do specific targeted keyword searches from other “tweets” to see what others are doing (spying on others tweets!). The possibilities are endless, but that is for the advanced users. To get started on the basics is really pretty easy!

So what are the basics? Just go to Twitter.com and signup, using a profile name that matches your business or topic of interest (such as “green-thumb-biz1” or “marketing_guru”). After that, check out some other nifty profiles and see if you can make yours a little more decorative, in other words don’t keep the basic plain background that they provide. It’s boring, nobody will take you seriously! You can add some pictures to a background image, or put some logo from your business, whatever you wish. Just make it look more professional and organized. Of course make sure to fill out some info on your profile about what you do, and a website address if you have one.

After that, start to check out the profiles of others in your area of interest by doing a search for some related keywords – you can search on anything from “golf” to “forex trading” to “cycling” and find probably hundreds or even thousands of people that share your interest. Nowadays,  many people are using it to build a business. So if you really want to build up a following fast, you need to make a nice profile, then get some serious content. Of course, you probably want to play around with it for at least a few days before jumping into a full-scale content assault. It’s been said that if  you build up too fast, they will kill your account. Also don’t follow too many people at once or your account will be flagged as “suspicious” which I’ve seen done to a few people. It just looks spammy, you know what I mean? You have to follow a few people to get started though, so started following a select few and hopefully most of them will follow you back and build up some credibility for you. Also, make sure you automatically follow those who follow you! This is very important; it will gain huge status very quickly for you. This can be setup in TweetLater, make sure you check out that setting.

After that, you can get some content – for free of course! Go to TwitterFeed.com and setup an account, then go find some content by setting up an alert on Google using keywords related to your business. Once again, this part is a little tricky. You have to change (or edit) the alert to be sent in RSS format, then copy and paste the anchor link from the alert into your feed. After that, just schedule it for whenever you want the feed to be fed to Twitter, say every couple of hours or so, and it works automatically! Just don’t go overboard and send updates every few minutes, pretty soon it will be obvious you are spamming, which is frequent messages that don’t help anyone. Good content sent infrequently helps people that are searching for good articles and info, so you can do that.

Another way to boost your credibility and gain followers is by “retweeting” people, especially people that have many followers. If you know someone in your business that has a lot of followers, retweet a few of their interesting tweets by using this format:  RT @username “message goes here”. Here is an example that I did recently:

RT @johnalanis If ignorance is bliss, the happiness quotient of the world has been steadily increasing these past few years!

Well that covers the basics, but there are more tricks out there – so get started an see if you can think of some creative ways to make money ( I’ll give you a hint, think affiliate products).

Happy Tweeting!

Use Color As Leverage For Your Marketing Collaterals

Use Color As Leverage For Your Marketing Collaterals

For non verbal communication, color is one of the most important elements that you can use to effectively convey your message and meaning. What they say about your color having their own meaning is true. It takes a certain shade to emphasize your idea and concept more profoundly.

Color is actually the most immediate method to tell your target clients of who you are and what you have to offer. For your message in your booklet printing for example to attract attention, you need color to get your target audience to identify and relate with your print booklets.

Applying color to any of your marketing campaigns can help you attract your target audience’s interest. It can convey the message of what your business is all about, create your brand identity, and more importantly, it can surely help you make a sale for your products and services.

Much of the consumers’ reaction to your marketing tool is subliminal. This means that the impact that the color you use in your print booklets for example, your target clients is generally not aware of it. Keeping this in mind then can help you relay a more effective message to your target clients by applying the right shade.

Here are some emotions and ideas that people are apt to associate with a certain shade.

BLUE — This shade is often considered to be the safest color worldwide. It is accepted in all countries and exudes impact in whatever language you use. The color blue symbolizes peace, tranquility, stability, truth, trust, confidence, knowledge, integrity, power, security, cleanliness and serenity. It represents the sky and water. Hence, the calmness it invokes can slow pulse rate and lower body temperature. Businesses often benefit from this color because it exemplifies stability and trustworthiness.

BLACK — It is the color of authority and seriousness. It exudes power, elegance, formality, and sophistication — anything that is related to wealth. Black is one of the colors that evokes mystery and feelings of class and elegance. This is why at formal events and balls, “black tie” is the norm. And the saying to be “in the black” in business means you are making money.

GREEN — It is considered to be one of the most liked colors. It symbolizes nature, the environment, health, good luck, money and vigor. To be green is often associated with generosity and youth. It is a healing color that nature shares with humanity. Hence, surgeons often wear this particular shade in the operating rooms to ensure that “all systems are green”, meaning, everything is in order.

ORANGE — Orange is fun and playful. If you happen to want to communicate a serious message, this color is definitely the wrong one to apply in your booklet printing for example. But it sure does command attention and provides vibrancy to otherwise dull and boring print booklets for your products and services.

RED — It is the warmest and most energetic color, hence, it usually symbolizes passion, speed, strength, excitement, and urgency. It increases the respiration rate and raises blood pressure. To invoke patriotism, it is often used by nations in their national flags.

YELLOW — It is nature’s most visible of colors. You can’t simply ignore this particular shade. Yellow reflects joy, happiness, idealism, hope, sunshine, and inspiration. For healers, yellow is the shade for peace.

So don’t even try to reinvent the color wheel. Mix and match what is already available and use the combination of shades to increase the effectiveness of your marketing campaign.

Maximize Your Marketing with a Craigslist Poster

Maximize Your Marketing with a Craigslist Poster

Here, we will take a look at how you can use Craigslist poster software to market the business that you have. In addition, we will discover how you can choose the best brand of Craigslist poster software in the market, and how you can maximize the results of your marketing campaign using such a tool.

Craigslist Marketing: The Basics

To have a deeper understanding of how business owners can utilize a Craigslist posting software to automatically post ads in Craigslist, here’s a brief look into the process. Basically, Craigslist.org is a website which was established in 1995. Its original function was to serve as an e-mail distribution system, but has grown into a web-based service in 1996.  Today, Craigslist.org is the most popular classifieds ads website which attracts billions of unique visitors from around the world on a monthly basis.

So how can you harness the popularity of Craigslist and use it to advertise the business that you have? Depending on the type of industry that you are in, you can post ads in any of the following categories in Craigslist which will serve as an online advertisement for the product or services that you are selling:

-          Discussion Forums

-          Job Opportunities

-          Items for Sale

-          New & Used Automobiles

-          Personals & Erotic

-          Real Estate & Property Rentals

Let’s say that you are selling handcrafted items and you offer the option to ship to anywhere within the United States. Rather than using the traditional and usually expensive forms of advertisement like radio, television or the ‘old school’ flyers distribution, you can post an ad in Craigslist instead.

By doing so, you can create a marketing campaign which is as targeted or as widespread as you want it to be. But where does a Craigslist poster software enter the picture? There was a time when Internet marketers did not encounter any problems at all posting ads in Craigslist. However, the company later on required that those who are posting ads under any section on the site key in a phone verified account.

This is where a Craigslist posting software proves to be useful. When you have a software which automatically posts ads for you, there is no need for you to spend the extra time, cost and effort in manually posting the ads yourself.

Another good thing about using a Craigslist poster software is that there are other features that you can utilize, including ones which will let you manage your advertising campaign; dynamically post ads by creating just one ad and using it an infinite number of times; and monitor which ads have gone live, ‘ghosted’ or flagged. These are the exact set of features that you will get to enjoy by using a smart auto posting software like CLAD Genius.

All in all, remember that you do need to have a solid, viable and dynamic marketing campaign to advertise your business – and using a smart auto posting software like CLAD Genius is a step towards the right direction.

Network Marketing Success–red Flags to Watch for When Choosing a Sponsor

Network Marketing Success–red Flags to Watch for When Choosing a Sponsor

When you start a Network Marketing business, your sponsor should be the person to teach you the ropes and teach you how to be successful.  Unfortunately, many people quit Network Marketing altogether because they don’t get the proper training.  Choosing a sponsor who shares your philosophy and values to help you on your journey to Network Marketing success is critical.  Here are some red flags that you should watch out for when choosing your sponsor.

Doesn’t ask you questions.  A good sponsor will ask questions to potential team members.  He or she will want to know a little about your background, why you’re interested in Network Marketing, and what you can bring to the team.  If your potential sponsor doesn’t ask you questions, that should be a red flag.  No questions means they’re willing to sponsor anybody with a heartbeat.  They’re more interested in signing you up than finding out if you will be a good fit for their team.  You will want to be selective about who you sponsor, and you want your sponsor to be selective as well.

Doesn’t connect with you.  You will be working closely with your sponsor, so it’s important to choose someone you connect with.  You don’t have to be the same age, gender, political affiliation, etc. with your sponsor.  But you do want to feel comfortable talking with them, asking questions, bouncing ideas off them, etc.  You need to feel a connection with them.

Tells you he or she will build your downline for you.  While a good Network Marketing plan encourages teamwork, a good sponsor would never tell someone that they don’t have to work.  Instead, a good sponsor will show you how to work and achieve the best results.  Someone who tells you they will build your downline for you is desperate and not someone you want as your sponsor.

Doesn’t know how to market the way you want to.  If you want to market online, you need to make sure you choose a sponsor who has had success marketing online.  If you would rather focus on calling leads, choose a sponsor who has been successful calling leads.  You will quickly become frustrated if you choose a sponsor who doesn’t know how to market the way you want to.  You will save yourself time and effort by choosing a sponsor who has experience doing what you want to do.
