I mean, both set off all kinds of moral red flags, and both claim they function on ‘reasonable suspicion" not ethnicity.

I’m a Canadian-born, atheist (which may sound a bit redundant to some americans:P). I Don’t believe in Islam, let alone killing innocent people over it. However, when I go to the airport, I’m flagged for my name often times. While I’m blue-eyed, freckled with blond hair, my brother turned out differently and has tan skin, with dark hair and eyes and he get pulled aside even more often. We’ve asked; we’re not on any list nor are our full names similar to any persons of interest. My mom (Irish) named both of us after our uncles so our first names are western. They just mark anyone with an middle-eastern *last* name — more so if you "look the part" like my bro’.
In short, I’ve seen racial/ethnic profiling in practice. I’ve experienced this "’reasonable suspicion’ not ethnicity" BS — I’m not buying it.

I’m almost positive hispanics will be singled out with this Arizona law.

Sure, racial profiling MAY be effective at protecting the boarder states, but if you allow the morals [regarding equality] of the country to disintegrate, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU PROTECTING?

Car title and registration question from Missouri – Is it the dealer's responsibility to clear a title?

I am at wits end. I am seriously about to have a breakdown.The mileage has been recorded incorrectly two times on my car title which has sent up red flags at the DMV even though I have legal documents correcting the errors. I have to get an affidavit from a previous finance company that repossessed the car saying that the lien was settled by the repo and an affidavit verifying the mileage at the time of repo. The finance
company doesn’t want to talk to me because I’m not actually one of their customers or the dealer. They say they know nothing about it and that I shouldn’t be the one calling anyway, but without it I can’t drive!!

I am so mad. I have been told several times that it’s the dealership’s responsibility to do this. The dealership is in Tennessee and say it isn’t required in their state (MO DMV says its a federal law) and haven’t been much help. They told me nothing about this problem before I bought the car. Should I get a lawyer? It is legally their responsibility?

i bought my chihuahua puppy from this breeder back in december. I found this website searching for a chihuahua breeder in my state of ohio. i did the responsible thing, went to the home, met the family, saw all the chihuahuas, both the litter of puppies and the adult chihuahuas (there was only one litter of puppies at the time and i had seen that was usually how it was there, only one litter of pups and puppies are not available at all times) the home was clean and tidy, both the adults and puppies appeared healthy and clean and well behaved and good temperament. I picked out my baby girl, went back at 8 weeks to pick her up she had her first shots and has been nothing but healthy since the day i brought her home and has also had a wonderful temperament. my only issue is that the breeder said that the pups would be registered with the ckc and since i have had my puppy i have learned that ckc papers is worth nothing more than the paper it is written on. my question is with all the other bases checking out why wouldnt these pups be registered with akc (i understand that if parents werent registered the pups couldnt be but i mean like if the breeder spends all the time and money that i saw she does why wouldnt the pups come from better lineage. i mean i know she is not just a byb i spoke with her vet, previous puppy owners and what not and they all backed up that she had done testing and what not, far more than some breeders do. also i know that i am not the only one that has paid what i paid for my girl (750) for her to only be ckc registered and having spoke to previous purchasers why do ppl continually go for that . i just dont understand lol where i went wrong. i would just like other ppls opinion on the matter, like it they see and other red flags that i missed. i love my girl and wouldnt change a thing
and for those of you who say that reputable breeders do not advertise online are wrong if you go to the akc breeder referral most of the akc recognized breeders have a website. i have since added an addition to the family from a breeder i found at a dog show and guess what she has a website so thats not true.

Is it illegal to bring up concerns when you suspect internal theft?

I work at a retail store and lately we have been noticing a lot of red flags pointing toward internal theft. My co-manager was the one to find a lot of things that would be questionable, and we were having a team meeting the next day where she was planning on bringing it up as a deterrent but she wound up not being able to attend the meeting due to her father being in the hospital so she said I can bring it up if I want. I stated my concerns and even stated that I wasn’t accusing anybody of stealing but I felt that maybe since we aren’t allowed as associates to put anything on hold that they were putting things in weird places in order for customers to not find them and for the associate to buy them later. I basically said that if you need to buy anything, just put it in the hold closet as our manager gives us permission to do so especially since these things make it look like there is internal theft going on. My manager later informed someone that I work with who then told me that what I did was illegal and I can get sued for being accusing people of things. Apparently even though no names were mentioned, I could have "looked at someone wrong" and they can sue me. My manager is actually mad at me for bringing up concerns about internal theft! Is what I did actually illegal? I tend to believe it’s not, but I’d be curious to hear opinions.
Note: I do understand that you can sue anybody for practically anything, but she did actually say that what I brought up was not legal and those issues are NEVER to be brought up at meetings or to associates.

Melaleuca?

What were your personal experiences with it? I had an aquiantence who sort of cornered me to buy products from this new company at a party. I agreed thinking it was the typical pyramid scheme type company and that I would just buy a few products to be nice-no biggie. Well, next thing I know-There was a 45 min or + phone conference call where other suckers like myself were on it from other states. Melaleuca was of course trying to get us to sell. In this call, they informed me that there would be a 1 year membership fee. They also said that I would be committed to 35 pts. of products. Basically they are telling me that I must buy a certain amount of products to hold my "membership". A few other red flags for me? They wanted my social securtiy #. I informed them that I NEVER give that out to people unless I absolutely have to. For ex: A background check for a job. The aquaintences "mentor" became huffy. In the end I did not buy anything from them.
I appreciate answers from both sides. It is interesting to get views from ppl w/diff opinions from my own. I personally had a problem with Melaleuca b/c I was extremely specific about only wanting to buy the product-and yet 99% of the forty five min. conference call was about getting customers to sell. Although, Dzalumn mentioned the reason as to why Melaleuca needs my SS#-I stated several times very clearly and directly that I was ONLY interested in being a customer-in their language-a category one. The other prob I have-the required pts. That is like me walking into Sams and the staff telling me that I must spend per month or I will lose my membership and have to start over. That would anger a great deal of people. The FINAL straw for me was that even after telling 2 ppl I have canceled, I am getting approx. 6 e-mails a day from one of the reps-not my aqaintence, about SELLING! I am glad to hear that others have had positive experiences-but it was not for me!

I feel stuck in my relationship.?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 5 1/2 years. The relationship didn’t start off bad. I moved in with him and his mom and things were going great. Then 4 months later his mom passed away from a pain pill addiction. Two days later my best friend was killed in a drunk driving accident. I tried so hard to be there for him. Through my own grief I tried to comfort him. I didn’t know what to do though. I’d never really dealt with death myself so I had no idea how to comfort someone going through the loss of their mother.
Anyways, things progressed and we moved in with his aunt and uncle and eventually things seemed to return to some state of betterness. Or what I thought was. Eventually I went to school and started trying to better myself and got us into a situation where we could get out on our own. Around that time his brother was in a horrible car accident (yes, alcohol was involved) and wound up killing his girlfriend in the process. So he went to jail.
Soon afterward my boyfriend turned 21 and started drinking himself. Although we’ve always drank to some degree (as I’ve been older and able to buy it) I’ve never felt a need to drink that much. So he didn’t either because I wouldn’t buy it often at all. But, as soon as he turned 21 all that went out the window. Which I don’t understand. His dad is also an alcoholic. That combined with everything else I would have though would have sent red flags up for him to stay away from it.
It didn’t. So for the last couple of years I’ve had to deal with drunken nights of him either getting sick or passing out on the counter.
Also within the last couple of years he has started lying to me. Mostly about insignificant things but also about his drinking. At one point I found out he was drinking a bottle of rum to himself everyday.
I’ve broken up with him numerous times mostly because I don’t want to be an enabler for him. I don’t want to give him a place to stay and I don’t want to make him think that it’s ok for him to act like that. He also takes cheap stabs at me every time we get into a heated argument. He says very hurtful things that usually have nothing to do with what we’re arguing about.
Beyond that he’s incredibly clingy, has no direction, and sounds a bit crazy a lot of times.
All that being said, I have every right not to want to be with him anymore. But, for some reason it is so difficult for me to get out. I can’t help but feeling guilty. Mostly for the fact that I’m all he has and I’m abandoning him. He makes sure to tell me that and he also plays the suicide card. Although he never will come right out and say it he insinuates it. I tell him that things will never get any better between us until he helps himself and he always says he will for me. So I tell him no, you need to do it for yourself whether we are together or not. It’s like there’s no reasoning with him though.
I definitely want to end this relationship. But I also want to convince him to try to help himself or at the very least have some hope for the future. He speaks so catastrophically though, like nothing will ever get any better and that the world is out to get him. He’s also very down on himself.
I realize I can’t make him do anything but maybe I just don’t want to feel guilty anymore. He just needs to realize that he can’t live his live for me and expect to be happy but he’s obsessive and some of the things he says scare me. I want to let him go and not feel guilty. I also start to miss him too and that’s hard to deal with. I can’t imagine never seeing him again. I realize that this has become a very codependent and unhealthy relationship. I sometimes wonder if it could ever somehow work out or if it’s best just to forget about it and if it’s is how do I do that.

With the red flags because you biggest track is falling apart. Then all the green white checkered! Thank god other things were on the tv.
i watched it, and the end was great. I am complaining more about the the 2 red flags because the #1 track is falling apart! I just could not take DW talking anymore!
