what is a flag that doesn’t fit the standard called?
when a us flag does not fit the standard , what is it called, I was thinking banner, but I think there is another name for it. do you know what it is called, like if it has 49 stars and not 50?

Since it has been 15 hours since this question was asked and no one else has attempted any kind of an answer…would you be satisfied with simply "vintage"? (I did do a search and came up empty-handed on this one)
The flag may be called an ensign when displayed on a ship to indicate the country of origin, but it has nothing to do with the age.
