When will the American citizens stand up?
I just seen a video where a restaurant had a Mexican Flag over the United States Flag. Do people know this is disgraceful and illegal? An american vet, while on camera, went right to the flag pole, and cut down both flags, folded the american flag, and said, "Somebody will have to fight me for this flag, because that what i did". "If you want to fight, be a man about it". While the owners of the restaurant just watch in shock. They had no comment and just picked up the mexican flag and went into the restaurant. Is this crossing the line to you? Bad enough some won’t assimilate, and are hear illegally, but disrespecting the flag?
Btw-It was a question similiar to this about a gas station, that showed a linked to the restaraunt. The lady complain how the owner flew a worn down american flag, and refuse to buy gas from there, because the owner would not replace it. Do you know most AMERICANS said she was over the top, because it is just a flag. How do u feel about things like this?

If someone wants to put up a Mexican flag they can and have every right to. This is not a communist country, this is the United States and people can put up any flag they want. They had an American flag below it …yes it’s against the "flag code of conduct" to put another nations flag above our own, but seriously who gives a shit, and most people don’t even know or care about flag etiquette. The owners of the restaurant should have had the two flags side by side, but I doubt they meant it in an offensive way. The vet should have controlled himself. What he did was ignorant. The right thing to do, would be to simply tell the owners that proper flag etiquette is to have the flags side by side and not one above the other. That’s what I would have done and I would hope any of my fellow Americans would do the same, instead of getting into a mad rage and cutting flags down.

If their leaving in America that is so disrespectful to wave their flag.That makes me upset.I dont understand why people dont like it here but yet come over here and make a better life for them selves but yet wave their flag.Oh no no no.If you dont like being in America,get the hell out of here.And about the worn down american flag,they should have put a new one.

Illegal? No. Even flag burning is legal and protected under the First Amendment (though many want to change it by making it illegal). Disrespectful? Yeah. Most first generaltion immigrants have a hard time letting go of their home country.
When someone dishonors or desecrates the flag, people should stand up and point out that it is morally wrong to do so. No other action is warranted. We are afterall, a free country.
I think now, more than ever, we need to come together as a nation and respect what our flag stands for. Because we are at war, the reactions in my opinion are appropriate. I am appalled that so many Americans publicly say they are ashamed to be American. (this site is a great example) Fine if you hate the president, fine if you hate that we are at war, but not fine to trample all over the respect we owe our soldiers that gave us the right to express our opinions in the first place. So, it isn’t just a flag as some people say.
