Why are american's so patriotic?
Ok…I was born in the US but raised in Europe.5 years ago i decided to return and i’m living a nightmare!
This was a free country once, but now i can’t see anything free about it…
We all get raped by taxes that we pay twice (once when we get our paycheck, and another when we buy something, and lets not even get into property and other taxes) GOD BLESS AMERICA!
We can’t even breath the wrong way, that there’s a cop hiding in every possible spot ready to rail you if you get distracted and not hit the brakes while going down hill in a 25mph speed trap (i can walk faster than that).GOD BLESS AMERICA!
God forbid you go to a BBQ and drink a few beers and decide to drive home and get pulled over…You can kiss your life goodbye!(Yet as long as you have a PBA card,shield, or any other get outta jail free "cop paraphinilia" your free to go)GOD BLESS AMERICA!
After all this abuse,that in other countries are just "normal" things that people do everyday and cops are more "open minded" about because in the end they are "humans" like us, we still LOOOOVE this country!GOD BLESS AMERICA and let’s wave our flags and stick em in our car windows!!
United States of America where nothing is united……Every state has it’s own laws and regulations.50 states (52 actually) that the only united thing they have about them is the language we speak!!
So in the end…..
Why all this patriotism for a country that sucks us dry every chance it has?Why do the majority of people agree and support this behavior?
And by the way…To all the old farts…YOU DO NOT WORK FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT..FIND A BETTER HOBBY LIKE COUPON CLIPPING!

Taxes are needed for every government.
If you don’t drive properly, you deserve to get arrested.
If you drive drunk, you definately deserve to be arrested because you could kill yourself or somebody else.
Americans don’t speak the same language. We don’t have an official language and we’re probably one of the few countries in the world where you find the majority of people are bilingual and can function without speaking the majority language.
America gives us rights.
Well_flam, I’m not a Yank. America works fine for me. I wouldn’t trade it for living anywhere else. I like my culture, I like my history and I like my homeland. Besides, if America wasn’t so great, why are millions of people every single year risking everything to com here whether it’s legally or not?
People from rich families immigrate to America. All backgrounds do.

Because they have been brainwashed their whole lives to believe that their country is the greatest and their laws the fairest. See the above answer for a real life example of the way yanks are conditioned to think.

It was the same for me, being American born and schooled and raised in Australia.
Returning to the United States was just like being in the twilight zone surrounded by pod people. So I truly know exactly what you mean and why, God Bless America, from my personal opinion. Only looks good in a rear vision mirror flying out of it.

sometimes pride is all we have to keep us going through all the bull i guess. it sucks that usa is not a eutopia but it is what youmake it and that is the best part of it because i am a winner, fighter, and i make the best out of what i have so usa is the best country for me!!!!

It’s the same reason people get really into football games. You get caught up and you want your side to win. It’s caused by not thinking for yourself.
Many Americans have this problem, and tv doesn’t help.
