Why Do Nice Guys Always Finish Last? Here Is Something Every Guy Desperately Wants To Know
Yes, I know it’s a depressing fact that nice guys always finish last when compared to the other jerks around. Are you one of the nice guys always losing out in life? Have you ever thought – where exactly do nice guys go wrong? Here are four tips to mend yourself before it is too late…….
Mom hangover – any guy who knows to do a bit of housework like cleaning, handling kids, cooking, etc. is always appreciated by the girls. But when they display too many feminine qualities, they lose out on their masculine part, thus girls simply don’t think of them as being guys anymore. Instead they remind the girls about their mothers – yuck……
Don’t overdo the romantic part – yup, most girls do like any guy who’s romantic by nature. But some guys overdo the act and keep coming up with endless ways and means to be romantic in every situation – when they have just met a new girl – candlelight dinners, teddy bears, poetry…. This can easily put off a girl you have just met, as it all seems to be too good to be true or simply too mushy for the girl. Also do not have anything physical on a first date.
Don’t be too much of a ‘yes-man’ – some nice guys can be too sweet and agree on any and every possible issue. I mean they turn out to be so good and understanding that the girl they are seeing uses them more as a door-mat. There’s nothing wrong if you show your emotions, anger and difference of opinion to a girl, once in a while – as long as you can handle it efficiently.
Too much of self-pity – many nice guys love to indulge in self-pity. They think that will impress the girls. What they manage to portray instead is that they are real wimps.
Now listen carefully-

Choreographers Comment: WAYWARD GLANCES is about our longing for and fear of intimacy. So many times in life, we fail to achieve a real intimate relationship because we fear the loss of control. In TETHERED, Blythe stands on, suspends from, and blathers to Matt always trying to maintain that control. Matt becomes a door mat (no pun intended), both literally and figuratively. Though, at the end, he silences her with one simple gesture. As we constructed this piece, I affectionately nicknamed this section Blatt (Blythe + Matt).
