um did you read all the answers or did you just pick out the mean one? huh, ok, thanks. Then doesn’t everyone who supported Bush for any amount of time deserve an apology for being told that we don’t care about the civillians, the military deaths, that we just see them as another figure? Thanks once again. This is a stupid flag argument.

Amen brother – the era of hate politics is upon us.
I think Bush’s policies are a disaster, and yet I do give him credit for sincerity. I think he honestly believes in his "mission from God" just as much as he believes that what’s good for Halliburton is good for the country. I try to discourage people in my own party and circles from trying to turn him into a chimp-faced Damien though – whether his policies result in evil things or not, that is not his intent. Bush is not the anti-Christ.
Personally, I think it’s the right-wing media that has made its money fomenting hatred and sound byte politics. Without his angry and ignorant rhetoric Rush Limbaugh would still be spinning platters on a third-rate morning show and O’Reilly would still be covering the police beat for a small-town tabloid.

Being a Democrat doesn’t mean you are unpatriotic. Just as I know I am not a mindless greedy , god thumper Republican. Some how this whole issue came into name calling and side choosing. And once tempers flare they are hard to put out. Beliefs are hard to change and even harder to accept someone else’s who is completly different and lives next door. We all forget that we are Americans first not the labels of party prefferance. I truly sorry if some one made you feel this way because just by posting this I know you are hurt. Stay the course. It is senseable people like us that will comprimise and head this nation.

I owe liberals nothing. That is what is wrong with this country. Everybody thinks they are owed something. This belief gets its roots from the liberal democrats. They created the monster, now deal with it. They gave more rights to criminals, they are taking morals out of the youth of America and replacing it with entitlements. The democrats have been part of some good programs, but these programs have morphed into something ugly and out of control. Their do good has turned a whole generation into entitlement junkies. Both sides of the isle are needed for balance. So with that I maintain that no apology will be forthcoming from me.

Sorry Jim but some times people just need to be hit with a stick to get it through there sick or thick heads they are walking down the wrong path.
You seem like a conscientious fellow, so after you recover from this then maybe you will realize how wrong you were in your thinking, and admit it. That is the road to recovery, that would be your penance.

In a simpler time, the difference between a liberal and conservative was just the order of importance in which they viewed the issues of the government.
Conservatives believed a strong military created a stable environment for business to prosper, which would create tax revenue to educate the young and care for the elderly.
Liberals thought educating the young and caring for the elderly would create a good environment for business to prosper, which created the tax base for a strong military.
Both had the same goals. They just approached it from different ends. I think what messed up the political arena was the introduction of moral issues into the mix. Issues like abortion are moral issues and should be dealt with at state levels not federal level. It’s likely the founding fathers would have added moral issues to their idea of a separation of church and state had they been able to see into the future.
Perhaps one day we’ll get back on track.
