Do you think it's wrong to own a swastika flag?
A couple of months ago I bought this beautiful swastika banner that is now hanging from my bedroom wall. I’m not a Nazi, though. I just think that the flag is pretty darn cool. Do you think that this is acceptable? Why or why not?
Do you people even read the questions?
1) IT’S IN MY ROOM. Nobody can see it. It’s just for me to enjoy.
2) I’m not ignorant of the flag’s meaning. I’m a history major, actually. Again, I just like the design. It’s aesthetically pleasing, not ideologically pleasing to me.
3) I’m a history major with a 4.0 who specializes in Third Reich history. So, for the last time, I do know what the flag means.

No. People might think that you ARE a Nazi, or Hilter supporter, and beat the shit out of you.

no, because it’s prejudice and ignorant, to think that a flag from the man that organized a war in order to commit genocide is sick.

Two things spring to mind, firstly: what country are you from? In some it is illegal to have a swastika flag on display. Secondly: do you realize what kind of organization that flag represents?
Think about what you’re saying to people about yourself if you a) don’t know enough about the nazi party to realize they’re not something you want to be associated with or b) know what they stand for but choose to overlook it because you think the flag is pretty?
The bottom line… the nazis did some terrible things. Don’t associate yourself with them unless you know what they did and are prepared to take some abuse for it.

My first thought would be NO WAY. But I guess looking at your details, if you seriously aren’t considering Nazism, then I guess its okay. Just don’t get too influenced by it, and make sure you let people who come into your room know that you aren’t a Nazi. It is a cool design tho, its sad it had to every be used in that way!

YOU KNOW ! That’s your personal space. And the reason maybe aesthetic. Thing is it also represents a very dark part of history. So don’t expect acceptance. It was designed to be be a powerful Symbol, like Gestapo and SS uniforms.

IMO its like asking about the Stars and Bars or Don’t Tread on Me.
It can mean anything to different people, if you like the look of it I see no problem.
Allot of WWII vets had Nazi flags as trophy’s along with the Rising Sun flags, As a matter of history its ok.
The only problem is if you are a neo-nazi and are telling people you are.
I guess its fine since its just in your room but if you ever invite friends over you may be in for a awkward convo
